These are accessories that we don’t necessarily use every day, but when we need them, we need them immediately. Spending a long time searching for them is the ultimate frustration! If this happens to you regularly, we have the solution for you—and naturally, it’s a designer solution: the Vitra Toolbox. This injection-molded plastic accessory features several compartments of different sizes to neatly organize all your belongings.

Introducing the Vitra Toolbox

The Toolbox, marketed today by Vitra—a global benchmark for designer furniture and accessories—was conceived by designer Arik Levy. A designer with an unconventional background, before becoming an artist and designer, Arik Levy split his time between surfing and his graphic design agency. Born in Tel Aviv in 1963, Arik Levy studied industrial design somewhat later in life in Switzerland, where he graduated with honors from Art Center Europe. After his studies and following a short stay in Japan, Arik Levy decided to establish his own studio in Paris, where he still works today, specializing in art and industrial design. He remains a versatile designer, enjoying renown for his furniture and lighting design, but he is also recognized for his work in tableware, jewelry, and objects for the home and office. Some of his works are now exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide, such as the Rock sculpture, which demonstrates his perfect mastery of mirror-polishing for large-scale pieces. This expertise has led him to work for various brands, including Ligne Roset, Desalto, Hennessy, Baccarat, Issey Miyake Parfums, Swarovski, and, of course, Vitra.

The Toolbox, as he imagined it for Vitra, is a designer office accessory that allows everyone to organize all their office supplies and keep them perfectly accessible. Ultimately, it functions like tools in a toolbox. You will no longer spend long minutes searching for your pair of scissors or your roll of tape. Your paper clips will be perfectly organized and will no longer be scattered across your desk or in a desk drawer. It is therefore perfectly suited for anyone working from home, especially with the rise of remote work, or for adding a designer touch to your desk as a replacement for your pencil box. Thanks to its bright colors, it can also be placed in a child’s bedroom to store coloring pencils.

With its perfect design, you can leave your Vitra Toolbox on your desk or place it on a piece of furniture to keep all your accessories easily accessible. However, you can also store it in a cabinet or on a shelf.
