The Jbonet Arson showroom has the honour of exhibiting the famous Egg chair created by the architect, designer and botanist Arne Jacobsen. Thanks to this model, Arne Jacobsen, together with Fritz Hansen, became a pioneer in the history of design. The Egg chair embodies craftsmanship, hand-made expertise, originality and exclusivity. According to American specialist in Danish design Michael Sheridan, it is the only 20th-century chair that is both a refuge and a throne.
Entirely handmade, it requires very specific expertise and 1,200 hand-stitched seams to assemble the two leather hides that make up its upholstery. More than a chair, it is a sculpture, like a work of art.
A piece crafted and upholstered in leather by master upholsterer Hans Mannerhagen is currently on display in our showroom at 25 rue Scaliéro.
