The fine days are coming, and with them the desire to bring your designer furniture back out onto your balcony or terrace. Having breakfast or meals outdoors, reading a good book in an armchair, simply relaxing outside while enjoying the pleasant temperatures. In certain regions of France, notably on the French Riviera where our designer furniture specialist company Jbonet is located, the outdoor space of an apartment or house can truly be furnished with designer pieces, given how much time is spent there. And through this article, we are going to introduce you to a very beautiful piece: the Carlotta armchair by Cassina.
Introducing the Carlotta armchair by Cassina

This Carlotta armchair by Cassina is an outdoor armchair that can be paired with many styles. Indeed, this armchair is made with a natural teak frame with rather linear shapes, allowing it to blend easily with your existing furnishings and modern décor. Teak is in fact a material found in a large number of outdoor pieces, whether armchairs, sofas, tables, or even lounge chairs (sun loungers). Is teak not also used for terrace flooring, in the form of slats or boards? Your Carlotta armchair by Cassina will therefore find its place with ease.
What gives this Carlotta armchair by Cassina its originality and character is that the backrest and seat are made of Mamba rope. A rope that not only gives this armchair its style but also reinforces its outdoor character. Not to mention the comfort provided by the crossed rope, which gives the seat a certain lightness. From a decorative standpoint, the armchair can be personalised through the colour of the cushions. And as for colours, you will be spoilt for choice, with no fewer than 72 different colours available.
The Carlotta designer armchair by Cassina, imagined by Afra & Tobia Scarpa

The Carlotta armchair was designed by Afra & Tobia Scarpa, an Italian designer couple who created pieces that have since become iconic. They are notably known for designing the Monk chairs, the entire Soriana range (armchairs, sofas and ottomans with a highly recognisable shape that is both comfortable and enveloping—a form that makes you want to sit down and never move), as well as the Africa chair collection. Having worked for Cassina, Knoll International and B&B Italia, the couple is also recognised for having worked on the layout of the shops of another well-known Italian brand in the world of fashion: Benetton. Their work is now exhibited in museums across the United States and Europe, including collections at MoMA and the Louvre Museum. They have also won numerous awards throughout their career, from the Compasso d’Oro in 1969 to the Forum International du Design in 1992.
