The beginning of the year is often a time to reflect on the months ahead, particularly regarding how we plan to rearrange a room. A new year is frequently accompanied by new ideas and new desires. With the health situation we have been experiencing for several months now, remote work has become significantly more widespread. Although the majority of French people do not wish to work from home 100% of the time, they are in favor of doing so one or two days a week. Consequently, the need for a home office is increasingly felt: working at the dining table or on a small table set up in a room is neither pleasant nor practical. However, the idea is not to choose just any desk, but rather to select a designer desk that harmonizes with the rest of your designer furniture. So why not fall for the Fred desk by Poltrona Frau?
Introduction to the Fred Desk by Poltrona Frau

The Fred desk by Poltrona Frau is a piece that inevitably catches the eye. Through its shapes and colors, it will become a centerpiece of your room—a piece that will surely make your workday different and more enjoyable. What makes this iconic and easily recognizable desk unique is the curvature of the leather top, which breaks the very straight lines of the desk. This curve brings a great sense of lightness. It is worth noting that this Cuoio Saddle Extra leather top is made from a single piece, without divisions or seams, thanks to a special artisanal process that achieves this without the need for internal supports. As for the desk’s structure, which is more imposing and also gives it its personality, it is made of solid ash with a wenge or moka stain and a triangular section profile.
Roberto Lazzeroni, creator of the Fred desk by Poltrona Frau
Roberto Lazzeroni is a contemporary Italian designer who studied art and architecture in Florence. During his formative years, he was particularly interested in the phenomena of conceptual art and radical design. When he began his career, Roberto Lazzeroni focused specifically on industrial and interior design, mastering the conception of industrial geometries, as seen in the Fred desk, the Fidelio console, and the Bolera table, all produced by Poltrona Frau.
