Since January 27th, Patrick Moya, a French visual artist, has been exhibiting at our J.Bonet Arson showroom. This is a unique opportunity to experience the intersection of art and design!
Art and design are so often compared, yet their respective boundaries always merge at a certain point. Art lovers are also passionate about design, just as design enthusiasts are about art… In any case, at J.Bonet, we love encounters, we collect inspirations, and we wanted to evoke emotions through this exhibition.
The World of MOYA
A visual artist, performer, and digital artist, Patrick MOYA was born in 1955 in Troyes and studied art at the Villa Arson in Nice. His career has taken him from the Punk generation of the 70s to the major street performances of the 80s, becoming the multi-faceted and multimedia artist we know today. Deliberately escaping classifications, MOYA attempts to break out of the restrictive framework of contemporary art with a common thread: asserting the presence of the artist within the work. From large steel sculptures erected in Asia to small ceramic beds modeled in Italy, from brushes to computers, from techno parties to the walls of a chapel, from contemporary art to digital art, MOYA is everywhere. A practitioner of “live painting” since the 2000s, MOYA broke his record in 2013 at the Vernice Art Fair with a 27-meter-long painting completed in just two days!
Live Painting at J.Bonet
Live painting performances are intended to be impactful and impressive because they plunge us into the heart of the creative act, in a little-known space-time where grand gestures, manipulation of colors, and forms intertwine. This is what we aimed to create during the exhibition opening on January 27th, in the presence of the artist. MOYA delighted our clients with a live performance, working on the customization of several iconic design pieces. You can, of course, find these pieces on display at our J.Bonet Scaliéro showroom in Nice until February 28, 2022, and take the opportunity to enjoy an inspirational experience while discovering the many new design arrivals in our boutique.
